St. Joseph’s Hospital, Complex Continuing Care

AHHH I am so excited. It isn’t what I want to do for the rest of my life, but it gets my foot in the door, and it’ll be a really good learning experience… and I’ll be paid.

I got myself locked in at work.

I work at a car dealership, where the lot gets locked at the end of the night, so no vehicle can drive on or off when we are closed. As I was leaving today (with only my manager left in the building), I realized that I forgot my phone, so I quickly went back to the building (which was locked).

So I’m standing banging on the door but my manager doesn’t hear. So I walk around the side of the building towards his office, but when I get there he isn’t there. So I walk back to my car, look to the back of the lot andddd it’s locked. DAMN

So I have no phone, and no way to drive off the lot. So I walk to the A&W next to my work to call my boss (thankfully I know his phone number, because my boss is my best friend (@meltakesthecake.tumblr)’s dad. Hah her house phone number is like 1 of 3 numbers that I actually know off the top of my head.

So he calls the other manager who comes and lets me back into the building to get my phone and then off the lot so I can get home…

and now all is well, and I owe my manager some cupcakes.

tl;dr I am an idiot and got myself locked onto the car dealership lot that I’ve work at for the last 5 years, so I had to call my boss to come bail me out.

Cake time!
My brother’s birthday is Tuesday so I made him a copycat Dairy Queen Coffee Crisp Blizzard Ice Cream Cake.

It was actually really easy, and it looks pretty good. We are gonna eat it tomorrow so I hope it is hah.

The layers are (from the bottom up):
Vanilla Bean ice cream
Homemade Oreo Fudge mixture
More fudge
Coffee Crisp Ice Cream
Homemade Whipped Cream on top.
Sprinkles/Writing (melted chocolate)

The crushed oreo/fudge doesn’t taste exactly like the dairy queen cake’s does, but all the recipes I found used that, so maybe once it freezes overnight it’ll taste more accurate tomorrow … I’ll let you know!

fyi, I bought my 25 year old brother a ps3 controller for his birthday, my parents got him luggage hah.

I made them last week, homemade nutter butters.
For the Americans reading this, we don’t have nutter butters in Canada. For the Canadians who don’t know what nutter butters are? Let me know cause I will make you some and you will see how wonderful they are!

Store bought, these cookies are hard peanut butter cookie sandwiches, but my homemade ones have a soft, chewy peanut butter cookie. And as always, it is filled with a delicious peanut butter icing. These turned out really well, and were very well received by everyone at work :)
